The year has just started, and it’s time to ask yourself what is your adventure this year?
Forget the Resolutions
So many people start the new year with resolutions to become better people. We should always look for ways to improve ourselves and make ourselves better, but this is something else.
Instead of asking how to improve yourself, ask how to enjoy yourself. Ask how you will make this new year exciting and unforgettable.
What is your adventure this year?
More than Improvement
Improvement is important. Without becoming better we can’t make the world better. It’s hard to help people enjoy a freshly painted masterpiece without learning how to paint. It’s challenging to help people enjoy some good music if we never learn to play.
There are many reasons to improve ourselves to enrich our lives and the lives of those we interact with, but there is more to life than improvement.
There is also excitement. There is also surprise. And don’t forget about mystery and the thrill of discovery. Sure you can have another regular year, but don’t you want to have a wonderful adventure?

Finding Your Adventure
Just like a scavenger hunt (something I’m quite experienced in, I might add), you can find all kinds of adventures in your life when you go looking for them.
And just like a scavenger hunt, you may have to solve some riddles to figure out where to go next. You might not know where your adventure is taking you, but you just know you’re on one.
The only thing you know for sure is you want the excitement and joy of a life full of adventure.
So what is your adventure this year? Whatever you want it to be. It’s time to start looking for it.
