What do you do when you have to plan an event and put it together quickly? I have some ideas that can help you with throwing together a last minute event.

If you are throwing together a last minute event, I can help. You simply need to keep in mind three things. The first is to make it fun.
Even if you have to come up with a last minute event, you can make it memorable and exciting by making it stand out. It’s one thing to have friends over to watch Star Wars, it’s another to decorate the room as the Cantina, serve frothing drinks, and invite everyone to come as a character from the movie.
Simply take your idea and think of a theme or things that are associated with it to make it extra fun.
Add Some Flair
If you’ve ever seen the movie Office Space, then you may want to take advice from the Chotchkie’s manager: add more flair.
If you want to make your event fun, then you need to find tangible things to make it fun. If you have a scavenger hunt, add things that people find or collect along the way. If you have a party, add themed drinks and snacks. Simply look for ways to add flair to your event.
And don’t let the fact that you’re throwing together a last minute event worry you. You can easily find ways to quickly up your party game. Kool Aid packs can add color to drinks. Find some items lying around the house do decorate in a theme.
If you need to take it up a notch go to your local party store. The depth of products they have is pretty amazing. Sometimes even just browsing will give you great ideas. In a worst-case scenario, you can order online from a place that ships same day or within one to two days.
Create a Plan
Now that you know how you’re going to make it fun and add some flair, you want to create a plan. This can be really simple. In that case your plan might be to start out at the park for a nice hike, then head to the ice cream shop for a treat, finishing up with a great game of miniature golf.
Even if you are simply staying at home, you want a plan that includes activities. It doesn’t have to be convoluted or overbearing, but a little structure is helpful.
Maybe you start out with a quick game that helps get people laughing and introduced. Then you all watch a movie or game together. Then finally you sit around and have some desert while you discuss it all.
Throwing together a last minute event is easier than you might think. Just figure out how to make it fun, add some flair, and create a plan. You can have an amazing event even if you have to do it at the last minute.
