Is it hot outside? Is it too hot? Here are some hot day activities for enjoying the day even if you’re outside.
A Shady Personality
Find a nice spot to set out a blanket and read a book, play card games with someone special, or have a nice picnic lunch. Find a great spot with a large canopy of trees to enjoy some fun summer activities with friends or play with the kids while they have a blast.
If hot day activities at your location are too hot for shade, then it’s time to cool it down.
Play it Cool
There are all kinds of ways to stay cool, even when you’re outside. Of course there’s the option of turning on the sprinkler, but using water wisely might make that difficult. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Grab a kiddie pool or a shaped tarp and catch the water so you can reuse it for gardening or outdoor cleaning.
Of course if you’re going to use a pool, why not use a real one. Find a local pool or head over to a friend’s house and enjoy a dip to cool down and have fun. If you live near the water, head out on the lake or into the ocean and enjoy some cool water as part of your hot day activities.
Of course one of the best ways to stay cool on hot days is to avoid the day all together. Shift your day around. Make your chores into fun activities and get them done early.
Then, after the sun has set and the mosquitos have gone to sleep, head out into the backyard and enjoy a night that’s probably just the right temperature. As a bonus, it makes it much easier to play games like hide and seek with the kids.
It’s easy to enjoy hot day activities with the family or friends. All it takes is a little bit of imagination and a willingness to have fun as you find where your adventure will take you.
