Safari Jake is still missing, but I’m sure he’s okay. I only know that he would want to support everyone calling for justice. That’s what he would want us to focus on. If you want to be a part of making the world better, here’s some ways you can be helping while you wait.
Supporting Justice
Martin Luther King Jr. said, “true peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice.” He said, “it is not possible to be in favor of justice for some people and not be in favor of justice for all people.”
We support justice for all, and we want to do all we can to help, even while we wait.
If you are looking for ways you can be helping while you wait, try these ideas.
Ways to Help
Education: Educate yourself. None of us know it all. None of us have it all right. None of us are free from incorrect thinking. Take in new perspectives and work to understand what life is like outside your own circle.
Listen: Listen to people who aren’t like you who don’t have your same life experiences. Get out of your social media bubble and follow people who come from different backgrounds like Bernice King, Rev. Dr. William Barber II, Joy Reid, and Nikole Hannah-Jones.
Support: Support organizations that are focused on justice like Black Lives Matter, Campaign Zero, and the Official George Floyd Memorial Fund. Find peaceful ways to get involved either through peaceful protests or volunteering.
A Better World
No matter what you’re waiting on, you can be helping while you wait. A better world requires openness to change and reevaluating what’s really important in life.
Life is full of adventure, but part of that adventure isn’t found in the outdoors but found in our relationships, our life-altering epiphanies, and our part in changing the world.
We’re at a moment ready to change the world for the better. Be part of it.
