When you’ve been stuck inside and the weather starts to change you get antsy. If you’re ready to enjoy some great weather outside but you’re looking to keep your distance, here are a few ways you can be enjoying yourself outside while distancing.
Take a Hike
I’m extremely fortunate to have a house just a 5-minute walk away from a great set of hiking trails. It’s easy to just step out and take a nice hike through some wooded areas and keep a peaceful distance from those around me.
This may not be easy for everyone, but there are usually trails and city parks you can find almost everywhere. What’s more, there are over 10,000 state and national parks in the US. There are a lot of ways you can go for a great walk through nature enjoying yourself outside while distancing. You can also drive through it.
Take a Drive
From No Particular Place to Go, to (Get Your Kicks on) Route 66, to I Can’t Drive 55, songs about the love of driving have filled the airwaves for nearly a century. There’s something about hitting the open road and just enjoying the scenery pass by.
Find a nice road you’ve never taken that’s more scenic than functional, turn on the radio, and just enjoy the sights. It’s an easy way to enjoy yourself outside while distancing and it can be a great way to find a place you’ve never been before.
Discover Somewhere New
If you really want to get outside, try going somewhere new. You may be itching to go to your same old haunts and get into your same routines, but why not add a little adventure to your life?
There are so many beautiful places you’ve never been. Why not find one you can travel to and just enjoy a quiet stretch of beach, a secluded shoreline or a majestic mountain trail? Why not take this time to do something new to really begin enjoying yourself outside while distancing and making the most of it?
Just because you’re by yourself, you don’t have to be cooped up. Enjoy yourself and make the most of your opportunities.
