There are many ways to enjoy life fully including getting out and going on an adventure. There are many places to go and many wondrous things to see, whether we go alone, with someone, or simply with our favorite furry companion.
But sometimes the best adventure to have is not to try for an adventure at all. Sometimes the best way to journey to the unknown is simply to spend some time in meditation and have an adventure in reflection.
A Brief Mental Adventure
There are many ways to meditate and spend time reflecting. Finding the option that’s right for you really depends on who you are and what you’re trying to accomplish.

- Get Comfortable. In order to maximize your ability to contemplate whatever is on your mind, you need to be comfortable.
- Remove Distractions. Not only is comfort valuable to clearing your mind, but removing distractions will help you keep your focus.
- Focus on your Breathing. If you have nothing specific to reflect on, just focus on your breathing.
It’s okay if you still find yourself distracted, just just come back to your breathing and either focus on it or whatever you are reflecting on. Set a timer for 5, 10, or 15 minutes with an alarm sound that will peacefully pull you from your thoughts.

And yet, sometimes we just need to stop, take a step back, and calm our minds. Sometimes the best adventures are found in the peace and tranquility of our own thoughts.
