For food delivery it’s just a bit of driving that you can enjoy with a friend or use the time to listen to music or a great book. At the same time there are all kinds of ways to volunteer, such as helping out at an animal shelter or providing entertainment to shut-ins, even if it’s virtual.
FaceTime People
Speaking of virtual, another one of the best of the 5 fun things to do in winter is to connect with people over video. Winter has a way of disconnecting us and what better way to connect than by video.
Sometimes a good phone call with a friend or family member can make your day better. Imagine how much more fun you can have when you do it over video. You may even find ways to play games and do activities that you simply can’t do over a phone call.
Make and Play Games

Grab a game and have some fun, or try doing something even better: make your own. One of the things my siblings and I enjoyed growing up was playing Monopoly with the extra board that my father had created. Complete with properties, special cards, and made up spaces, the extra board made playing monopoly extra fun.
You can make your own games and have a blast with the people you enjoy spending time with, virtually or in person.
A Walk in the Woods

Spring and fall seem to be the ideal time for a walk in the woods, but winter can be even better. There is a quiet hush that the winter brings, particularly when there’s snow. There’s something truly remarkable about taking a walk in the winter.
Create a Snow Sculpture
If you are lucky enough to enjoy some snow, then you will be able to make the most of the last of 5 fun things to do in winter.
Instead of making a snowman, make a snow sculpture. You can start by creating the three snowball shape of the snowman, then add more snow to fill in the gaps and create the basic “lump of clay” that you will sculpt from.
